Xevious, released by Namco in 1982, is a vertically scrolling shooter arcade video game. Players control the Solvalou starship, attacking Xevious forces before they destroy all of mankind. The Solvalou has two weapons: a zapper to destroy flying craft and a blaster to bomb ground installations and enemies. With its unique gameplay and multi-tiered fighting environments, Xevious influenced later games like Marvel vs. Capcom.
