P-47 - The Freedom Fighter is a shoot 'em up game released by Jaleco in 1988. It is the Japanese version of P-47 - The Phantom Fighter, with some minor differences, such as the title screen and the stage order. The game is a historical game, where the player controls a P-47 Thunderbolt fighter plane during World War II. The game features eight stages, each with a different location and mission, such as bombing enemy bases, escorting allies and dogfighting with enemy planes. The game also has a power-up system, where the player can collect items that improve the plane's weapons and speed.
