Logo of Front Line

Front Line, developed by Taito in 1982, is an early run-and-gun shooter. Players take on the role of a soldier, battling through enemy lines to destroy a fortress. The game is notable for introducing a rotary joystick and allowing players to commandeer vehicles. Its combination of on-foot and vehicular combat was innovative, influencing future shooters.
